THURSDAY: FLUXUS

Fluxus, from the latin meaning 'to flow'.

A cross-disciplinary group of artists / musicians and other creative disciplines mainly active in the 1960s. Sometimes described as Neo-Dada, the movement was always focused on 'anti-commerical aesthetics' in favour of a strong focus on DIY aesthetics. Notable fluxus artists include Joseph Beuyrs, Yoko Ono + John Cage, with the movement being conceived by George Maciunas. Below are examples of fluxkits & fluxus boxes containing often pointless or impossible games, postcards and items created by the fluxus group + curated by Maciunas.
